Summer Outings for Faculty and Staff
Outings are for faculty and staff. Each faculty or staff will be permitted to register one guest. Instruction will be provided. Gear will be provided to those who need it.
Click on the outing that you would like to register for. At the end of the registration process, you will be prompted to download important information and forms. If you would like to register a guest, you will need to complete a second online registration.
Transportation will be provided from campus or you can drive yourself!
Open to beginners!
Each outing is only $15/person!

Description of Outings
Sea Kayak Skills Clinic - learn the ins and outs of sea kayaking including terminology, paddle strokes and rescue skills in the calm environment of Mendums Pond. Be prepared to have fun and get wet!
Sea Kayak Tour on Oyster River - We'll start at Jackson Landing in Durham and paddle the Oyster Rive to the Bay and Wagon Hill Farm where we'll take a break. Instruction will be provided at the beginning of the tour.
Full Moon Kayak Tour on Mendums Pond - We'll explore Mendums Pond as we paddle around the perimeter under the full moon. Instruction will be provided.
Mt. Major Day Hike - We'll head to the Lakes region for a 3 mile roundtrip hike to the rocky summit of Mt. Major for incredible views.
