Open Skate and Stick & Puck

UNH Campus Recreation offers two opportunities for UNH Student, Faculty/Staff with active memberships at the Hamel Rec Center, to get out on the ice. Open Skate is great for skaters of all abilities to hone their skills or skate with friends. Stick & Puck is for those looking to work on hockey-related skills. Both take place on the Whittemore Center Arena ice.

Registration is not required. View schedules below.

Open Skate

Open only to UNH Students, Faculty/Staff with active HRC memberships. Free entry. Limited skate rentals $3, first come - first served.

Public Skate

Come out and skate at the Whitt. Open to UNH Students, Faculty/Staff, and the public without active HRC memberships. No registration or active HRC membership is required for these dates! Entry fee $8 per person. Limited skate rentals $5, first come - first served.

Dates: Sunday nights October 13 - November 17.

Stick & Puck

Policies

Skates may only be used for Open Skate or Stick & Puck. Participants are not allowed to bring rental skates outside of the Whittemore Center.   

Stick & Puck skaters must wear protective gear: Ice hockey skates, elbow pads, ice hockey shin pads, ice hockey gloves, cup, hockey pants, and approved ice hockey helmet with full face mask and chin cup. Helmets are available for participants to borrow at the Public skate lobby.

Public Skate: Helmets are required for individuals under the age of 18. Skate trainers are not available or permitted on the ice.
