I started working at Campus Recreation as a Marketing Practicum Student, where I helped assist in the development of marketing techniques and raising awareness for Sport Clubs. After a semester, I was promoted to a Sport Club Supervisor, where I oversaw various games and events between club members. I was then given the opportunity to become a Sport Club Program Assistant, where I took on more administrative duties for Sport Clubs, working with budgets, air/travel expenses, volunteer committees, etc. I ended my experience at UNH Campus Recreation as a Special Project Intern, where I assisted in various projects with Campus Rec, as well as assist in the training of Fitness Assistants, Intramurals, Welcome Center, and Sport Club employees. Campus Recreation always acted as a second home for me while at school; it gave me so much confidence in my ability to work and lead others, as well as try various ventures of my life that I wanted to explore. Post-grad, I served as a Personal Trainer after getting my certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Campus Recreation has helped instill in me the importance of Recreation, Exercise, and Customer Service, as these things are often overlooked in today’s world. As someone who has a strong love for these areas, I love being able to utilize these in my post grad life. I have too many special memories to count. I would say that I loved anytime the Sport Clubs crew got together, as they were my primary home when I first got to the HRC. They were an awesome crew (Shoutout to my 15-16’ and 16’-17’ crew!) I do have to say that anytime Trivia was involved might take the cake on this one :). My advice for students is to get to know EVERYONE. You are at one of the biggest HUB’s at UNH for students to visit daily (at least 3/4 students use the gym regularly if I remember correctly.) You never know how YOU could change their lives with a simple hello, or how THEY could change your life with a job opportunity in the future! Some may even become your best friends before you know it :).
